Our verdict
The bottom line
The middle Rotak. Bigger than the 32, smaller than the 36 R. The right Bosch corded if your lawn is between 200-400m² and stripes don't matter. Same cable-and-motor checks as any Rotak.

Used-market tip
£25–55 used. Cable end-to-end check is the only critical inspection. Bosch motors are brushless and almost never fail; if it runs and the cable is intact, it will keep running for years. Listen for unusual whining (worn brushes); halve the price if you hear it.
Where to look: Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree are usually 20–30% cheaper than eBay UK for petrol mowers because most sellers want local pickup. eBay tends to win on cordless and electric (lighter, easier to ship). Always insist on a starting demonstration before paying.
