Our verdict
The bottom line
The Flymo hover for buyers who outgrow the Hover Vac. Bigger cut, better build, twin-handle for sloped lawns. Mulch-only is the design choice — accept it or buy a Hover Vac.

Used-market tip
£35–80 used. Lift fan housing crack is the killer — flip and inspect. Twin-handle pivot points should lock cleanly. Cable in good condition is non-negotiable. Plastic deck repairs are usually visible — walk away from anything welded.
Where to look: Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree are usually 20–30% cheaper than eBay UK for petrol mowers because most sellers want local pickup. eBay tends to win on cordless and electric (lighter, easier to ship). Always insist on a starting demonstration before paying.
