Our verdict
The bottom line
A solid budget cordless if you want a complete kit and do not mind pushing. The 40V Greenworks platform is decent but locks you in. Fair value new, good value used.

Used-market tip
£90–160 used. Battery health is everything — demand a runtime test. A healthy 4Ah does 30 minutes; under 15 minutes means dead and replacement batteries are £80+. Avoid any with chewed cable insulation around the battery contacts (overheating sign).
Where to look: Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree are usually 20–30% cheaper than eBay UK for petrol mowers because most sellers want local pickup. eBay tends to win on cordless and electric (lighter, easier to ship). Always insist on a starting demonstration before paying.
