Our verdict
The bottom line
The Stiga answer to the Honda HRX 537. Same cut width, similar features, much lower used price. The engine is the gap — the ST160 is reliable but not Honda-level. For a 1500–2000m² lawn this is a smart Mountfield-family alternative.

Used-market tip
£260–400 used. Twin-clip blade should be intact (no bent edges). Stiga share parts with Mountfield so service at any Mountfield dealer is straightforward. Roller bearings should turn smoothly. Anything with engine hours over 200, demand a service.
Where to look: Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree are usually 20–30% cheaper than eBay UK for petrol mowers because most sellers want local pickup. eBay tends to win on cordless and electric (lighter, easier to ship). Always insist on a starting demonstration before paying.
