Our verdict
The bottom line
The thinking person's alternative to a Honda HRX. Twin-clip blade actually does what Stiga claims and the rear roller stripes well. Fair value new, good value used.

Used-market tip
£240–340 is fair used. Twin-clip blade is the differentiator — make sure it is intact and not bent (a £35 part). Rear roller bearings should turn smoothly. Stiga share parts with Mountfield so service is straightforward at any Stiga or Mountfield dealer.
Where to look: Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree are usually 20–30% cheaper than eBay UK for petrol mowers because most sellers want local pickup. eBay tends to win on cordless and electric (lighter, easier to ship). Always insist on a starting demonstration before paying.
