Our verdict
The bottom line
The mower that defined "the British striped lawn" before everyone went Honda. Atco is now part of STIGA Group but the Liner still runs the original heavy-roller deck. A connoisseur classic on Marketplace.

Used-market tip
£200–400 used and the spread is wide because condition varies massively. Steel deck rust is the make-or-break — flip it and look for hole-through corrosion (not just surface). Original Atco serial sticker on the deck adds £40. Avoid anything stored outside year-round.
Where to look: Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree are usually 20–30% cheaper than eBay UK for petrol mowers because most sellers want local pickup. eBay tends to win on cordless and electric (lighter, easier to ship). Always insist on a starting demonstration before paying.
