Our verdict
The bottom line
A genuine surprise on the spec sheet — electric start, rear roller, 53cm cut, all for under £400 new. The brand is the question; performance is fine. Used market hasn't caught up so resale is poor, but new buyers get a lot for the money.

Used-market tip
£140–260 used. Electric start battery slow to crank = dying battery (£35 swap). Roller bearings on a budget brand wear faster — check for play. Steel deck rust check under the cutting deck is critical. Generic engine but parts cheap and easy.
Where to look: Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree are usually 20–30% cheaper than eBay UK for petrol mowers because most sellers want local pickup. eBay tends to win on cordless and electric (lighter, easier to ship). Always insist on a starting demonstration before paying.
